We are on the hunt for a dynamic and seasoned Permanent Medical Malpractice Defense Associate to join our top-tier legal team. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced and innovative environment that focuses on defending medical professionals and healthcare institutions against malpractice claims. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical malpractice defense, professional liability, and defense litigation. With your vast experience and knowledge, you will play a critical role in managing complex medical malpractice cases, providing strategic advice, and achieving successful outcomes for our clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation in complex medical malpractice cases. 2. Provide strategic advice and counsel to healthcare providers and institutions facing potential medical malpractice claims. 3. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations. 4. Conduct thorough and meticulous legal research to support defense strategies. 5. Draft, review, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements. 6. Collaborate with expert witnesses to prepare for trial and develop robust defense strategies. 7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to medical malpractice and professional liability. 8. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, provide exceptional client service, and work towards achieving successful outcomes for our clients.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. 2. Admission to the state bar. 3. A minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in medical malpractice defense, professional liability, and defense litigation. 4. Exceptional knowledge of laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to medical malpractice and professional liability. 5. Proven experience in handling complex medical malpractice cases, from inception through trial. 6. Exceptional legal research, writing, and negotiation skills. 7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. 8. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to providing exceptional client service. 10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
