Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist

Description

 Prime HealthCare Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine is currently looking for a full time Front Desk Receptionist for our Avon location.  Hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30 to 5:00.  

Duties and Responsibilities Include: 

• Answering the phone in a timely, polite and professional manner, directing calls to the appropriate person and taking accurate messages within the electronic medical record.
• Scheduling new and existing patients in EMR according to scheduling protocols.
• Checking in and registering new and existing patients, verifying demographic and insurance information and collecting copays.
• Checking out patients and scheduling any follow up appointments.
• Monitoring and scheduling from a referral work-queue.
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Demonstrating the ability to adjust to unexpected changes to assure that all responsibilities and duties are met during absences and increased patient volumes.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing team player attitude.
• Medical Office or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with in a team environment.
• Experience with Athena preferred.
