We are seeking a the right person for our Medical Office Front Desk to become a part of our team in our location in Lawrenceville.
The Medical Front Desk position serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from check-in to check-out. This role is crucial for the efficient flow of the clinic, managing administrative tasks, patient scheduling, communication, and maintaining accurate electronic health records, all while upholding the highest standards of customer service and patient confidentiality.
Check in patients in the appropriate time frame to ensure the provider is on time
Use electronic health record to check patients in and out
Verify patients insurance through phone and using insurance portals
Collect patients ID for verification of name and date of birth
Collect payment at check in and check out stations
Complete pre-visit prep daily in a timely manner
Listen to voicemails and call back in an appropriate time frame
Scan faxes and medical records in patients chart and notify the appropriate personnel
Answer phone calls and transfer to appropriate personnel and department
Provide support to staff and patients when necessary
Provide an excellent patient experience
Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and medical practice management software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and clarity.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Compassionate, kind, and patient-focused customer service skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and copay/deductible collection procedures.
Problem-solving abilities to address patient concerns and scheduling conflicts.
Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite, general database navigation).
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
Punctuality and reliable attendance.
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of medical front desk experience
Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
