Metro Physical Therapy has an immediate opening for a full-time Payment Processing Representative to join us in our Garden City office! This role is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of insurance and patient payments and adjustments. Status: Full Time with Benefits

Location: On-site in Garden City, NY (not remote eligible at this time)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm or 8:30am-5pm

Essential Functions:

• Post manual and electronic payments.
• Post  line-item payments and adjustments to patient accounts within 24 hours of receipt.
• Reviews daily deposit sheet and downloads electronic payments to post based on deposit.
• Upload 835 to google drive.
• Balances receipts, reconciles daily work.
• Prepares deposits for the bank.
• Identifies on primary payment (EOB) when a secondary payor is present and posts accordingly.
• Scan explanation of benefits for incorrect and/or inconsistencies in reimbursements and posts to the denial organizer for follow-up.
• Identifies consistent fee schedule / allowable differences and communicates for updating.
• Communicates payor trends to supervisor.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of medical payment posting specialist experience required.
• Knowledge of third-party payor reimbursement procedures and practices required.
• Knowledge of EOB’s.
• Technical proficiency, including Microsoft Word.
• Must work effectively with all management levels and staff affiliates.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment; demonstrates a positive can-do attitude; have effective communication skills with a diverse range of individuals.
• Excellent interpersonal/ communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
