The Role
We are seeking a Medical Records Clerk to join our dynamic legal team. This full-time position, based in Houston, TX, offers significant opportunities for long-term career development within our growing practice.
Required Experience
High school diploma required; some college experience preferred
2+ years of experience managing medical records in a pre-litigation department
Prior law firm experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with ChartSwap, Needles, or similar legal/medical records software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in a fast-paced professional environment
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Adept at planning, prioritizing, and multitasking to meet deadlines
Demonstrated initiative in managing tasks and projects
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing medical and billing record affidavits for completion and identifying deficiencies
Compiling lists of medical and billing records, providers, and missing records
Pursuing collection of all submitted medical and billing records for each client
Notating file management system with comments on pending items and action items for workflow accuracy
Collaborating with Pre-Litigation Paralegals and medical records providers, using independent discretion to obtain necessary documents
Managing medical liens
Utilizing software such as ChartSwap, Needles, and other legal/medical records platforms
