Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, and supporting the overall efficiency of our medical office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient information.
- Retrieve and file medical records as needed for healthcare providers.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Respond to requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, attorneys and insurance companies.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations is an advantage.
