Job Description - Medical Reports Expeditor

Leidos QTC Health Services is seeking a Medical Reports Expeditor (MRE) on our Occupational Health team. As an MRE, you will be responsible for reviewing the electronic case management system to identify reports and diagnostic results requiring follow-ups. You will also communicate with medical offices and diagnostic facilities to verify attendance and obtain reports, following escalation workflow when appropriate, and upload diagnostic results received to the case management system in a timely manner.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Review the electronic case management system to identify outstanding reports and diagnostic results requiring follow-up

  • Communicate with medical offices and diagnostic facilities to verify attendance and obtain reports in a timely manner, following escalation workflow when appropriate

  • Upload diagnostic results received to the case management system

  • Appropriately process Date of First Draft (DFD) signed reports in the case management system

  • Prioritize all requests from the client to expedite delivery of a case

  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:



  • High School diploma, or equivalent (GED)

  • 0 to 1 year of relevant experience, in a medical office and/or administrative position

  • Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Basic understanding of medical terminology

  • Adaptable with the ability to follow a standardized workflow

  • Organized with the ability to multi-task and perform with a high sense of urgency and follow through

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills to both internal and external customers

  • Proficient in relevant computer applications (i.e. MS Office, Adobe) with an ability to learn new software quickly

  • Experience in medical billing and coding with a focus on CPT coding

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment


Additional Information:



  • Work location: Remote-reliable home internet required

  • Training: 3-4 weeks of training and mentorship will be provided 

  • Work Shift: 8 hour shift Monday – Friday between 7:00 am and 5:30 PM

This role may fall under the Service Contract Act (SCA), a federal law which provides for a U.S. Department of Labor-prescribed minimum prevailing rate of pay and certain benefit levels.
