Medical Scribe

Description

We are seeking a Medical Scribe to join our team and support a busy physician. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of clerical duties to maintain accurate patient medical records, working closely with clinical staff and medical providers. The primary responsibility of this role is to accompany the provider during patient encounters and thoroughly document the visit in the electronic medical record (EMR). This is an in clinic position with occasional hybrid availability.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Thoroughly document the entire encounter of the patient’s visit. 

2. Accompany the provider during each patient encounter to take notes for each appointment. 

3. Update the provider with essential testing that the patient may be due for, per the patient records. 

4. Prep the patient’s chart prior to the patient’s appointment. 

5. Update any information received via documents to the patient’s chart. 

6. Review the provider’s documents (Beans) and update the patient’s chart as appropriate. 

7. Utilize computer software to maintain organization and multitasking. 

8. Perform other duties, as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

1. 1-3 years of medical office experience (required). 

2. Must be able to type at least 50 words per minute (required). 

3. 1 year of scribe or transcription experience (preferred). 

4. 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (preferred). 

5. 1 year of experience with excellent interpersonal, organization, and follow-up skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously (required).
