Position Overview
Are you a nurse who loves both clinical care and leadership? We are seeking a Medical Service Manager to lead our medical department. Under the direction of the Administrative Director, this is a dual-function leadership role. You will be responsible for the daily operational excellence of the medical department while providing direct clinical support to our Mental Health Providers (APRNs/PMHNPs).
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who balances administrative oversight with a "hands-on" approach to patient care and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Practice Leadership
Clinic Oversight: Lead day-to-day operations to ensure efficient workflows, documentation accuracy, and a superior patient experience.
Personnel Management: Supervise, coach, and evaluate the medical support team (MAs and admin). Lead hiring, onboarding, and culture-building efforts.
Fiscal & Strategic Support: Support budgeting, monitor productivity, manage medical supplies, and oversee vendor relationships (labs, pharmacies).
Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, infection control, and healthcare laws.
2. Clinical Support & Provider Assistance (Hybrid Role)
Direct Provider Support: Act as the primary clinical lead for APRNs/PMHNPs. Perform "hands-on" duties including rooming, vitals, and patient check-outs.
Psychiatric Nursing: Administer medications/treatments, conduct patient assessments, and assist with behavioral health interventions and de-escalation.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner with therapists, peer supports, and psychiatrists to coordinate and adjust individualized care plans.
3. Community & Patient Advocacy
Serve as the primary liaison for families and community partners to strengthen referral networks.
Lead "service recovery" efforts by resolving patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Candidate Qualifications
Licensure: Current, unencumbered Idaho LPN or RN license (Required).
Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience (outpatient, primary care, or behavioral health preferred).
Leadership: Prior supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Clinical Knowledge: Deep understanding of medications, specifically psychotropic drugs and their effects on psychiatric patients.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with state/federal regulations governing medical billing, financial recordkeeping, and HIPAA.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Resilience in navigating a fast-paced environment and competing priorities.
Ability to remain calm and professional during high-stress or crisis situations.
Ability to provide physical support (room turnover, assisting patients with daily tasks).
