Job Description - Medical Services Technician- Everett

Description

Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Services Technician/Urinalysis for our Everett location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient collection, documentation, and processing of urine specimens. This role requires direct observation of male patients during specimen collection, completion of lab requisitions, and maintaining accurate records. The hours for this position are 8:00 am- 4:30pm. The pay is $24.00 an hour.

Requirements

  • Monitor the collection of male patients' urine specimens through direct observation.
  • Report any unusual specimens or patient incidents related to specimen collection to the nursing staff.
  • Complete incident reports as necessary.
  • Retrieve intake and other urine specimens from the reception area daily.
  • Complete lab requisition forms in duplicate for all collected specimens and package them for the lab.
  • Record urine test results on the patient U/A record sheet.
  • Regularly check supplies and submit requests for orders as needed.
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and collaborate with other staff in patient treatment as necessary.
  • Meet the competency standards established by THS for this position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow written instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in using both paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to consistently carry out assigned tasks and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
