Job Title: Medical Technologist Generalist

Locations:

+ Newark, NJ

+ Elizabeth, NJ

+ Long Branch, NJ

Shifts:

+ Evening: 3:00pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri + every other Sat / Sun

+ When you work the weekend, you get 1 day off each week.

+ Training Shift: 8:00am -4:00pm or 7:00am -3:00pm Mon-Fri with no weekends

+ Shift start time depends on which training bench.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

+ BS in Medical Laboratory Science OR life science (biology or chemistry)

+ Clinical laboratory experience in chemistry, hematology and basic microbiology

+ ASCP or NCA certification

Description:

Support chemistry, hematology and microbiology benches and rotate benches each day

+ Urinalysis testing

+ Microscopy

+ Review peripheral smears and identify normal and abnormal cells

+ Gram stain review

+ Identify bacteria

+ Update LIS

+ Check quality control, maintain machines and instruments in laboratory, troubleshoot, call critical samples and complete the pending log in a timely manner

+ work in a high volume hospital core laboratory

+ Instruments - Vista, Centar, Architect, Vitas Sysmex, ACL top, Ised Elite, histology stainers, Cephied, Biofire, Verigene

+ complete blood cultures identifications and PCR testing

Work Environment:

+ Work on a team with about 5 other techs on the benches on evening shift. Everyone is cross trained so anyone can assist you on any bench and have a lead tech to train and a supervisor that can support any urgent needs.

+ Solid leadership team in the NBI laboratory - great collaboration and transparency

+ Diverse team and emphasis on diverse leaders and thought

+ Can train on all benches and look to cross train even in blood banking
