Job Summary

As a Medical Technologist, you will perform stat and routine clinical laboratory testing under the direction of a Laboratory Supervisor, Manager, or Director. Your responsibilities will include analyzing proficiency testing samples, maintaining licensure and competency, performing non-technical duties such as specimen collection and processing, and supporting departmental goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, and more.

Job Responsibilities

Become proficient with information system computer functions relative to job duties
Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing according to established procedures
Analyze proficiency testing samples and complete within allowable time frames
Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of the supervisor
Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results
Perform quality control procedures and take corrective action when necessary
Assist in meeting department regulatory agency requirements
Operate equipment correctly and perform maintenance as scheduled
Monitor reagents and supply inventories and utilize them appropriately
Handle problems and critical laboratory specimens/test results according to established procedures

Qualifications

2 Year/Associate Degree required
4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred
State of Florida Technologist License required OR ability to obtain during the interview process
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist
