The Medical Technologist (Lab) will be responsible as a resource for ensuring patients access their care in a seamless and uncomplicated manner. The job role is dynamic and requires extensive walking and standing throughout the entire shift. The Patient Concierge will support various clinical activities and clinics to anticipate patients' needs by ensuring that exam rooms are cleaned, perform exam room check-out, patient check-in, and electronic record documentation, including scanning. The Patient Concierge will provide navigation support to patients, ensuring they are personally escorted throughout their experience. The position also evaluates data and service improvement opportunities acting as an information resource and a patient advocate.
Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or related field from an accredited college or university.
At least one year experience of hands-on laboratory work handling biological specimens and cells, although two years prior lab experience is preferred.
Knowledge and training in sterile or aseptic technique.
Experience and ability to perform procedures in laminar flow hood and/or biological safety hood.
Knowledge and ability to use automated and conventional laboratory equipment.
Ability to work with clinical research coordinators, research nurses, and surgeons to ensure proper receiving of surgically resected tumor specimens in a timely manner.
Ability to create and/or maintain a tissue receiving, processing, and biobanking log.
Knowledge or training in tumor tissue dissection, T lymphocytes isolation from resected tumor tissue, tissue culture, and tissue preparation for cryopreservation and/or shipping is required.
Knowledge or training in DNA isolation and single cell RNA sequencing is preferred.
Ability to interact in a professional manner with individuals at all levels.

Experience working in a community health setting is highly preferred.
A completed Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
General working knowledge of computer programs including the Microsoft Office Suite & a knowledge of EPIC is preferred.
Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
