Medical Vision Testing Technician

At West County Ophthalmology, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We will provide on-the-job training so you can join our growing profession as a Medical Vision (Testing) Technician (Ophthalmology). You will be assisting our Ophthalmologists by performing patient medical history taking, pre-exam testing and caring for the ophthalmic instruments and equipment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are desired, plus a desire to transition an on-the- job training into a dynamic career. You will have the opportunity to assist the physician and care for our patients. No weekends! Learn all about...

· How to efficiently and accurately interview patients and documenting histories.

· How to review charts and update for accuracy.

· Understanding the eye anatomy, disease and ocular medications.

· How to check vision and identify patients' chief complaints.

· Various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals

· As much as possible to succeed in this role.

· About HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
