MEDICO-LEGAL TECH

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Area of study or major: HIM or other healthcare profession Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience Prior job title or occupational experience: Medical-Legal experience in a Health Information Management department or related experience, i.e. healthcare billing, physician office. Associate degree, HIM, in lieu of medical-legal experience. Other experience requirements: Must have completed a course in medical terminology or be enrolled in a class at the present time. Must display excellent telephone techniques. Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and written. Must have data entry skills and be familiar with the use of a keyboard.
