Michigan Black Business Alliance empowers Black entrepreneurs through a range of programs and services, including access to capital, mentorship, business education, and policy advocacy. We create spaces for Black businesses to incubate and thrive. The Mission of the Michigan Black Business Alliance (MBBA) is to help close the racial wealth gap by developing programs and advocating for policies that result in profitable and sustainable Black-owned businesses that are connected to public and private economic opportunities, while building trusted relationships.

Position Summary

The Member Concierge is the first point of contact for members, guests, and partners at MBBA’s BLK BizHub. As the welcoming face of the organization, this role ensures every visitor feels valued, informed, and connected to the right resources. The Member Concierge will provide excellent customer service, assist with membership engagement, and support smooth daily operations of the BizHub. The successful candidate will be friendly, professional, and passionate about building relationships and supporting the success of Black-owned businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Member Experience

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the BLK BizHub, greeting all members and visitors with professionalism and warmth.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and helpful information about MBBA programs, services, and events.
  • Assist with new member onboarding, renewals, and ongoing engagement.
  • Ensure the BizHub environment is welcoming, organized, and member-focused.

Hub Operations & Resources

  • Oversee day-to-day needs of the BizHub, ensuring spaces are member-ready.
  • Order and maintain office and hub supplies, including paper, copier/printer needs, and technology equipment.
  • Ensure meeting rooms, technology, and presentation equipment are properly scheduled and functioning.
  • Coordinate room reservations and logistics for member use and events.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational needs to keep the hub running smoothly.

Administrative & Support

  • Maintain accurate membership records and databases.
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and manage visitor inquiries.
  • Track member interactions and share feedback with leadership to improve the member experience.

Events & Community Engagement

  • Assist with planning, setup, and coordination of events, workshops, and networking activities at the BizHub.
  • Promote member participation in MBBA programs and services.
  • Represent MBBA with professionalism and warmth during in-house events.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 2 years of experience in customer service, client relations, or administrative support.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, welcoming presence.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Comfort with technology, including Microsoft Office and databases/CRM systems.
  • Passion for MBBA’s mission and commitment to serving the community.

Additional Assets:

  • Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Michigan’s business landscape
