Job Title: Member Relations Specialist 

Reports To: Director of Community Relations 

Department: Community Relations 

Status: Full-time, Hourly 

About the Role: 

We're seeking an individual skilled in strengthening stakeholder relationships and driving community engagement. As a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator, you'll be the key liaison between the organization and its diverse stakeholder groups, implementing strategic communications and engagement initiatives that support our destination’s growth and success. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with hospitality business representatives, community groups and other stakeholders in Monterey County. 
• Implement and measure the success of programs, projects, and special events that strengthen external relationships and increase community engagement. 
• Maintain and update all member information in CRM including accounts, contacts, listings, images, and events. 
• Track key performance metrics including member engagement, growth in membership and member attendance at educational training sessions. 
• Collaborates in developing and executing See Monterey’s destination communication strategies. 
• Maintain calendar of community and industry events and coordinates team representation at external events. 
• Represent See Monterey at community and industry related events as needed. 
• Coordinate and evaluate effectiveness of team destination familiarization trips and member program activities. 
• Manage inventory and procurement of promotional items. 
• Respond to visitor and partner inquiries by providing tailored destination information via email and phone. 

Requirements

Our Ideal Candidate: 

• Bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, tourism, or hospitality. 
• Proficiency at managing CRM like SimpleView a plus. 
• Proven independent decision-making abilities. 
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.  
• Knowledge of Monterey County’s diverse communities and attractions. 
• Ability to travel within Monterey County. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) and familiar with cloud computing environments
