Member Service Representative I

Primary Function: Able to perform in all Member Service areas of the Credit Union, including but not limited

to: New Accounts, Lending, Reception Desk, and Teller Line

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Have broad knowledge of Credit Union services and policies and the ability to answer inquiries of a general nature. Responsible for staying current on all products and services offered by the credit union and be proactive in offering these products and services when applicable.
2. Accept and process various financial transactions for members and businesses by phone, mail or in person. Transactions to include but not limited to; deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, certified checks, bond redemption, postage stamps, wire transfers and safe deposit boxes.
3. Process currency transactions reports (CTR) and recommend suspicious activity reports (SAR) to security officer.
4. Balance own teller cash, checks and miscellaneous items. Find and recommend corrections in out of balance situations.
5. Maintain ATM; balance, replenish cash, process deposits. Ensure ATM is stocked with deposit envelopes and receipt paper.
6. Become and remain a Notary Public.
7. Have intermediate knowledge to open the following accounts; shares, share draft, sub shares, youth accounts, sole proprietor accounts, certificate accounts (excluding IRA)
8. Have intermediate knowledge to explain the procedure of the draft account with regards to stop payments, non-sufficient funds for both checks and card transactions, overdraft protection and overdraft privilege.
9. Have basic knowledge to open business accounts, trust accounts, traditional and Roth IRA.
10. Have basic knowledge to process distributions, contributions, rollovers and transfers on both traditional and Roth IRA.
11. Have basic knowledge and ability to explain share insurance.
12. Process transactions using remote signature.
13. Assist members with digital banking to include but not limited to; resetting password, unlocking accounts, walking members through the enrollment process.
14. Have intermediate knowledge to process MasterCard and signature loan applications. Offer and enroll applicants in any voluntary debt protection products available to the loan. Perform credit checks as required and forward completed applications to loan officer for approval. Process adverse and subsequent actions.
15. Have intermediate knowledge to discuss and process visa debit card disputes, ach disputes, stop pay for checks, teller checks and ACH and receive death claim information.
16. Have basic knowledge to discuss and process all collateral loans, to include titling paperwork and to process all other types of non-collateral loans.
17. Have basic knowledge of available commercial loans.
18. Complete required and recommended educational courses; Follow all rules and regulations as applicable to job function, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act.
19. All other duties as assigned

2. High school graduate required, some college desired
3. One+ years financial experience a plus
4. Loan experience a plus
5. General office experience
6. Excellent computer and internet skills
7. Excellent organizational skills
8. Strong skill in business letter writing
9. Ability to interact comfortably with co-workers, members, and management

Physical Requirements:

1. Visual acuity. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; extensive reading on a computer monitor
2. Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, either in person or on the phone.
3. Light work. Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
