As a Membership & Retention Manager (Recruitment Focus), you will serve as a strategic leader and visible ambassador for Girl Scouts in your community—driving membership growth through intentional outreach, strong partnerships, and data-informed decision-making. In this role, you will lead recruitment efforts by cultivating relationships with schools, faith-based organizations, and community partners, while also building and supporting a sustainable volunteer pipeline.
You will guide and coach recruitment strategies, monitor performance metrics, and ensure that outreach efforts translate into meaningful membership growth and long-term engagement. This dynamic, people-centered role is ideal for a leader who thrives on relationship-building, storytelling, and leading teams to achieve measurable impact—while ensuring every girl and family has access to the Girl Scout experience.
The Opportunity
Are you a strategic leader and relationship-builder with a passion for expanding impact? We are seeking a dynamic Membership & Retention Manager (Recruitment Focus) to drive membership growth and engagement across an assigned territory. In this role, you will serve as a key ambassador for Girl Scouts—building strong community partnerships, developing a sustainable volunteer pipeline, and leading data-informed recruitment strategies that convert outreach into meaningful membership growth and long-term retention, ensuring every girl has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Growth: Develop and execute data-informed recruitment and retention strategies by analyzing community needs, demographic trends, and membership data to drive girl and volunteer growth within assigned geographic areas.
Community Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and businesses to increase visibility, expand outreach, and strengthen Girl Scout presence.
Staff & Volunteer Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop membership staff while building and leading a strong volunteer support structure—recruiting, onboarding, and guiding volunteers to ensure alignment with council priorities and a high-quality experience.
Service Unit & Volunteer Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing guidance on GSUSA and council policies, connecting them to resources, supporting Service Unit–level success, and proactively addressing and resolving conflicts among volunteers to maintain a positive and collaborative environment.
Customer Experience & Operations: Deliver high-quality customer service by leveraging technology, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely problem-solving and conflict resolution support.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: Champion and integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and access into all aspects of the role, fostering an inclusive environment through daily actions and engagement.
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support overall membership growth and organizational success.
