Job Description - Membership Manager Africa (m-f-d)
We are looking for an engaged Membership Manager who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work in the region to strength membership engagement and to build and maintain relationships with potential new and current members.
Based on a solid knowledge of the region, the selected candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of a regional membership engagement and development plan for the recruitment, maintenance, and engagement of international members.
Develop and lead FSC membership engagement in the region.
To analyse the membership in the region to identify the gaps in the chamber and geographical distribution.
Identify potential members to strengthen FSC mission in the region.
Recruit new members and retain existing ones.
Create and implement outreach strategies to expand FSC International membership base in the region.
Design and implement strategies to achieve high-quality standards of member service.
To keep members updated on all key FSC processes and key membership topics.
Inform and train members in the region as necessary.
Develop an engagement plan to increase and diversify the participation of members from the different chambers.
University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field, for example, Natural Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, Communications, Social Sciences, etc.
At least 5 years of demonstrated professional experience with at least two years in a role with relevant outreach and stakeholder relations and development.
Experience in working with international organizations and international project teams and network partners.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and French.
Service and solution-oriented attitude to work.
Collaborative working style and team building skills.
Strong networking skills
Ability to work well as a member of a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary global team.
Very good verbal and written communication skills.

Play an active role in the FSC global community of 400+ forest stewards who come together in-person at least once a year.

Location: Brazzaville, Nairobi
Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
Duration of Consultancy agreement: 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance)
Starting Date: As soon as possible.
Travel: Sporadic travel is required.
