Job Description - Membership Processor

Position Opening – Membership Processor
The Membership Processor is the primary point of contact for data input and changes within the membership system database for membership setup and dues collection.  This position interfaces daily with individual members, payroll clerks at school districts across the state and leaders within local school district associations.   The position also interacts with staff at all levels both in troubleshooting, responding to questions, facilitating input and transfers of information.  The position handles a wide range of administrative related tasks in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.  Being organized, able to multi-task, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to success in this role.  Strong aptitude for mathematics, written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are equally important.  The ability to establish and maintain sound working relationships with individuals from outside of the organization is essential. Perform administrative tasks and duties under the guidance of the CFO as needed to fulfill LAE’s mission.

Qualifications/ Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) to five (5) years of recent relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Experienced in automated accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel. 
  • Proven computer skills with excellent efficiency and accuracy. Comfortable with Excel and able to demonstrate solid basic skills including ability to write formulas, filter, sort and reference data.
  • High degree of comfort and accuracy in working with numbers.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal (and distance) supervision.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Displays initiative, naturally curious and dedicated to an accurate and solid work product.
  • Able to use sound judgement and initiative when called for, knows when to escalate issues.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends on occasion as needs arise.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the input of membership forms with a very high degree of accuracy.
  • Able to understanding prorating of dues for mid-year membership additions and to perform calculation to calculate the accurate amount.
  • Reconciliation of school deduction rosters to membership data base records utilizing Excel as a tool involving filtering and basic formulas.
  • Communicate with field reps and local leaders regarding issue involving individual dues.
  • Takes personal ownership for the accuracy of local association assigned, builds strong relationship with district payroll personnel.
  • Monitor and follow up on members paying via EFT and Credit card pursue resolving processing issues and pursuing delinquent payments.
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation Package:
Position will be compensated according to the Louisiana Association State Staff Organizations (LASSO) Agreement.
  Position to remain open until filled.
