A Memory Care Activity Assistant assists the Director in planning and implementing meaningful activities and programs that promote the creative, spiritual, social, and intellectual well-being of our Memory Care Residents.
This is a full time position.
Duties & Responsibilities: a Activity Assistant:
1. assists the Director in programming and implementing Community activities and events
2. assists in the preparation and purchase of supplies and equipment needed for Life Enrichment activities and events
3. leads exercise and wellness activities.
4. maintains records of Resident participation in Life Enrichment activities and events
5. conducts Resident preference assessments with respect to Life Enrichment activities and events
6. performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications: 1. Required: a Activity Assistant must: a) have earned a high school diploma or equivalent; b) be able to prepare their Community’s programming calendar in the absence of the Director; c) type with accuracy and possess working knowledge of and basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams applications in the Microsoft Office suite; d) have schedule flexibility, including the ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred: The following qualifications would enhance the skill set a) experience in the life enrichment/activities department of a senior living community; b) relevant experience with group and/or event planning.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands: must be able to maintain moderate physical activity for an entire shift, occasionally handling objects up to 50 pounds and frequently handling objects up to 20 pounds
