Description
Position Summary:
Position processes mental health billing, data entry process and maintenance of the mental health and files.
Essential Duties:
Ensure that all Mental Health completed documents comply w/ Federal, State, County and Insurance Co. requirements, review and audit for completeness and accuracy, authorization and eligibility.
Audit, batch and process Program services claims through respective contracted agencies systems or manual processes and their respective controls to ensure all billable services are valid, accurate and eventually approved for payment.
Interface with Medical or Clinical staff to provide information on new admits and recurring outpatient clients. Perform follow-up on unauthorized clients.
Works with appropriate staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy of billing/reporting systems.
Responsible for meeting departmental processing and reporting deadlines.
Exports data from EHR to assist with weekly/monthly/as needed reports for productivity and data analysis.
Provides support to billing reconciliation between inputs and services versus revenue received.
Analyze, research, reconcile and process denials from payers.
Review monthly paid, denied, and rejected claims.
Assures data accuracy through reviewing services and transactions for duplicates and other billing errors; informs involved parties of corrections needed.
Assist in completing County reporting such as but not limited to: Service Delivery Plan, Settlement, Shifting Analysis, Payment Report analysis.
Assist in trouble-shooting technical support issues, coordinating with IT and EHR vendor.
Provides support for staff training of EHR functions/changes.
Reviews and ensures MH staff have the proper billing qualifications in EHR and NAPPA.
Assist coordinator to oversee data entry for Electronic Health Record System
Salary Range $18.00 - $23.40 per hour.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires proven experience in basic office clerical skills: filing, typing, organization skills and computer skills (Excel & Word), data entry.
Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, Accounting, Business, Health Information Technology or related field
DMH billing experience preferred.
Additional Requirements
Must have and maintain a working vehicle a valid, unrestricted California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
