Under the general supervision of the Partial Hospitalization & Intensive Outpatient Programs manager and as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, the primary clinician’s duties include, but are not limited to, providing transitional and comprehensive mental health services, including case management, group and individual therapy, family psychotherapy, and crisis intervention, to a caseload of adults who are high risk for psychiatric hospitalization. The incumbent will complete psychosocial/functional assessments, mental status examinations, comprehensive treatment plan development, and discharge planning. Coordinate treatment among various agencies and advocate for clients to link with needed resources. Work with the treatment team and inpatient/outpatient units to facilitate referrals and service. Attend staff meetings and treatment planning meetings.

85% | Yes | Direct patient care: Maintain a clinical caseload and provide case management, individual patient/family meetings, psychosocial assessments, and treatment planning with the team. Facilitate psychotherapy skills groups, including psychoeducational, supportive, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness groups with diagnostically diverse adult patients; crisis triage/management. Clinical consultation to a multi-disciplinary treatment team and liaison to inpatient/outpatient units to facilitate referrals and services as needed; participation in ongoing assessment of treatment services, including ongoing evaluation of the need for change and improvements; may participate in the training of medical students, residents, and/or other post-graduate trainees when assigned by the program manager. The incumbent may also be called upon to provide individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention, outreach, and case management, as indicated by varying programmatic and patient-care needs. |
