Job Title: Mental Health Clinician-CVHI

Reports To: Program Director CVHI

Status: Part time 

Classification: Non-Exempt

Location: Regional within North Valley California

Job Summary:

This is a non-exempt staff position within the CVHI program at Nation’s Finest. The Mental Health Clinician is primarily responsible for providing and documenting therapeutic services to veterans enrolled in the CVHI Program. This position works and collaborates with the entire CVHI and residential team and staff. This position may work at multiple locations within the service area. 

Job Duties:

  1. Maintain a calm, friendly and cooperative atmosphere within the program and the participants to promote a clean, orderly, and healthy environment at all times. 
  2. When appropriate, provide evidence-based individual, couples, group, child, and family therapy to clients in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  3. Document client progress and other significant events in individual client case files according to agency standards and as required. Promptly and accurately report any issues or concerns regarding clients to direct supervisor and/or their designee. Maintain strictest confidentiality with regard to protecting client privacy in record keeping. 
  4. Manage a reasonable caseload and develop therapeutic goals as appropriate with individual client needs, and in accordance to agency standards. Ensure clients have a clear understanding of their goals and action steps outlined in their ITP and receive appropriate support in pursuit of those goals. 
  5. Provide therapeutic services to program clients, including (but not limited to): crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, and relapse prevention. 
  6. Utilize available curriculum and materials to facilitate group sessions as needed and directed by program goals. 
  7. Complete reporting in a timely manner based on agency and external funder requirements. Complete internal data input into case management tracking software. 
  8. Complete all required program documentation including but not limited to intake and assessment, progress notes, group notes, personalized plans, data, correspondence, etc. 
  9. Provide services via telehealth platform and/or in person, as required. 
  10. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Program Director, Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Required Job Skills:

  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision while maintaining an effective working relationship with other staff members and community partners.  
  • Be detail oriented, able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a professional conduct at all times. 
  • Able to set and maintain professional boundaries at all times with clients adhering to agency policy and procedures.
  • Excellent inter-personal communication skills with the ability to interact with participants of varying ethnic, social or economic backgrounds. Knowledge of mental health issues, drug, and alcohol addiction desired. 
  • Experience working with a population experiencing homelessness is highly desired along with a knowledge of at-risk veteran advocacy considerations. 
  • Experience and knowledge of conducting individual case management and group sessions.
  • Proficient in office software including Microsoft Office Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Case Management and/or Client Health Record Databases

Qualifications:

Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a closely related field required. 

Current, active registration with the state licensing body and an AMFT or ASW required. 

Current license with the state as an LMFT or LCSW preferred. 

Experience working with populations experiencing homelessness and/or mental illness challenges preferred.

Experience with at-risk veteran advocacy.

Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move or carry office supplies and materials weighing 20 pounds or less. Finger dexterity required for computer keyboard operation

Offering:

 $80,000-$85,000/year depending on experience and location.
