Mental Health Intensive Services Supervisor

The Mental Health Intensive Services Supervisor will provide oversight, leadership and documented clinical supervision to a team of MH Clinicians in the ACT, Crisis, and Forensic programs who provide direct services to clients in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules. This position provides direct supervision, daily oversight and support to program staff, as well as some direct client services for the ACT program, with the purpose of helping individuals create and achieve goals related to health and well-being, community living activities, independent living skills, and social skills (among others). The Intensive Services Supervisor works with the Program Director to build, develop, and improve clinical services being provided and coordinates with other programs for additional client supports and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral science, or related field required plus
• Minimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health treatment setting 
• Minimum 2 years of successful clinical and employment supervisory experience
• For individuals in recovery from substance-use disorder, must have maintained continuous recovery for the previous two years at the time of hire

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: 

• QMHP required for CS-10A 
• Current Licensed Professional (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) required for CS-10B and
• Board Certified Supervisor by the Board of Licensed Social Worker and/or Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists or AAMFT or NBCC Center for Credentialing and Education
• CPR Certification or ability to obtain within first three (3) months
• Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License or ability to obtain one upon hire and be insurable under the organization’s auto liability coverage policy (minimum 21 years of age and at least 3 years without any DUI or moving violations)

PREFERRED:

• Experience providing services to individuals with Severe and Persistence Mental Illness (SPMI) a plus
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

1. Clinical Supervision:

• Works closely with the program staff of the assigned programs as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
• Provides direct, day-to-day supervision and performance monitoring over mental health staff members for the Crisis, ACT and Forensic programs;
• Provides leadership, wellness, oversight and evaluation of services, and staff development;
• Provides clinical supervision to program staff and document supervision for each program staff in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules. This includes at least two hours per month per direct care staff, one of which MUST be individual supervision. Additional supervision should be provided if staff needs additional assistance, education, training, or support;
• Leads weekly team meetings to build positive, collaborative teams as well as developing treatment plans, discussing individual clients’ progress, etc.;
• Completes civil commitment investigations;
• Provides some direct services to ACT clients in the form of case management or skills training. This may take place in individual or group formats;
• Manages inbound referrals to the programs and appropriately triages them to facilitate effective transition into these services;
• Monitors work allocation to maximize output/productivity and effectiveness of staff while maintaining high quality of services;
• Works closely with other staff as a member of the treatment team, ensuring healthy staff-to-staff and staff-to-client relationships;
• Ensures that documentation in client files is timely, complete, reflects clinical best practices, and meets State and BestCare standards
• Assists with chart and program audits to ensure compliance with facility accreditation, licensing, State laws, and other regulatory requirements;
• Periodically reviews documentation of team members to ensure quality;
• Provides licensure supervision if qualified.

2. Leadership and Administrative:

• Provides direct, day-to-day supervision and performance monitoring over the assigned program staff including hiring, performance evaluation and management, training and developing;
• Provides daily oversight of scheduling and attendance of personnel;
• Provides effective and timely feedback to staff regarding performance outcomes and progress toward goals and completes annual performance evaluations of program staff;
• Ensures that respectful and compassionate treatment is provided to all clients of the programs and that proper policies and procedures that protect the health, safety, and confidentiality of clients are developed and implemented;
• Remains dedicated to a healthy work environment for the benefit of employees and clients served.
• Works closely with the Program Director to identify opportunities to provide innovative and high-quality services to the community and develop/improve the programs’ processes;
• Ensures that the practices of the program meet best practice standards for the field;
• Actively improves the quality of the program through participation in the Quality Management process;
• Provides or makes available on-going training for staff and ensures their timely completion of assigned training;
• Maintains strong relationships with community partners, developing collaborative relationships whenever possible;
• Stays knowledgeable with OARs and ORSs related to outpatient behavioral health, Crisis, ACT, and Forensic programming including service delivery and documentation;
• Maintains robust and effective collaboration and communication with other BestCare programs;
