About the Role
You will assist the Occupational and Recreational Therapist and Clinical staff to assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence based therapeutic recreation and leisure programs at Normanby House. You will work with the client, their family and the care team to provide an innovative, stimulating, multi-sensory activities program to enhance the psychological and physical well-being of clients of the Aged Mental Health Service. Assisting consumers with daily living skills, therapy programs, diversional activities and other consumer related services. In consultation and under the supervision of the senior staff:
Plan, implement and evaluate group activities
Work with consumers and their family to develop individually tailored care;
Maintain documentation reflecting the interventions and client response to activities;
Actively engage clients in planning, delivery and the evaluation of interventions
Classifications for this position will range from Psychiatric Services Officer SO11 – SO18 ($52,306- $62,337 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
Previous experience working within Mental Health or a strong interest in mental health and well-being and a commitment to helping meet the needs of consumers and carers
Well-developed interpersonal skills, clear communication skills, both verbal and written
Team work: actively contribute to care and take direction from staff.
Good organisational skills and computer literacy
Current National Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain
