Job Description - Mental Health Therapist

We are one of the largest private corrections and detention management companies in the United States, serving government partners across the country. We operate over 65 correctional facilities and is publicly traded on the NYSE under the symbol CXW. Our healthcare division plays a critical role in delivering mental health services to individuals in custody, helping to raise the standard of care and positively impact lives through clinically informed, compassionate treatment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct clinical mental health assessments and screenings for incarcerated individuals
Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans
Provide mental health treatment, crisis intervention, and therapy
Maintain detailed documentation in healthcare records
Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards are upheld
Collaborate with correctional and healthcare staff to deliver care

Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field
Current licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) in California – Required
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
Must be at least 21 years old
U.S. work authorization – no visa sponsorship available

Preferred:

Experience in correctional, institutional, or trauma-informed care settings – preferred
Familiarity with EMR systems and behavioral health documentation – preferred
