Mentor Lead

Role Overview:
The Mentor Lead supports the Mentoring Program by ensuring smooth volunteer onboarding and organizing impactful mentoring events that foster meaningful relationships. They are crucial in supporting mentor matches and organization opportunities for mentoring moments.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Administration and Onboarding:

• Assist in recruiting new mentor applicants.


• Manage mentor applications and track their progress through the approval process.


• Oversee compliance administration - ensure all mentors complete background checks and training requirements before being matched. 


• Maintain mentor records and follow-up on all compliance requirements (updated certification, background checks, etc) as needed.
  

Mentoring Initiatives and Events: 

• Organize monthly Mentoring Activities in coordination with our First Tuesday initiative 


• Partner with Camp Firewalker in leading the overnight camping trips for the elementary boys.


• Support as needed with overnight trips (camps, rite of passage, backpacking) for the older boys. 


• Plan and organize mentor matching events to connect new mentors with students.

Mentor Support:

• Support a cohort of Mentors and/or Mentor Coaches 


• Assist in facilitating mentor trainings and retreat


• Track mentor-mentee relationships, conduct regular check-ins, and monitor match progress.

Skills, Qualifications, and/or Requirements:

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.


• Ability to lead training and facilitate events.


• Understanding of safety and student management.


• Ability to operate 12-passenger van and lift 25lb.
