Job Description - Merchandise Assistant

Description

RH is seeking a Merchandise Assistant to support the development, launch, and ongoing performance of the category assortment. This role serves as a trusted hub for accurate product data, timely execution, and actionable reporting, partnering across teams to help merchants make informed decisions and deliver an exceptional product experience.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain seasonal assortment plans, competitive studies, and market intelligence; monitor customer trends, top sellers, returns, and service feedback to identify opportunities and inform assortment decisions
  • Own SKU setup and maintenance with Merchandise Operations, keep product information accurate across systems, and conduct data audits to resolve discrepancies at their source
  • Execute price changes with Planning and Merchandise Operations, document each update in the Weekly Tracker, reconcile purchase order price variances, and maintain costbooks and raw-material consumption trackers
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Merchandising and vendors, coordinating vendor setup, custom orders, replacement-part requests, expense purchase orders, costbook completion, and lead-time confirmations
  • Develop reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into sales, margin, product costs, lead times, material utilization, and special-order frame inventory; flag risks and translate data into clear insights for weekly business and financial reviews
  • Drive seasonal launches and floorset updates in partnership with Merchandising, Product Development, Visual Merchandising, Allocation, and Operations, including product naming, information, dimensions, proofing, packaging, signage, collateral, gallery allocation lists, and atelier needs
  • Strengthen team execution by keeping trackers current, closing the loop on follow-up, documenting processes for team operating procedures, and removing cross-functional bottlenecks with accuracy, initiative, and a commitment to RH’s Vision, Values, and Beliefs

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 1 year in an Assistant Merchant role or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience working with domestic or offshore suppliers and sources
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with consistent attention to accuracy, detail, and follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • A high degree of flexibility, initiative, energy, and collaborative problem-solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
