A premier global law firm is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions / Private Equity Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing private equity sponsors, strategic acquirers, portfolio companies, institutional investors, and public and private companies in sophisticated domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions.

Ideal Background

• 3–6 years of mergers & acquisitions and private equity experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing private equity sponsors, strategic buyers and sellers, portfolio companies, institutional investors, founders, and public and private companies

• Experience handling public and private mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, minority investments, recapitalizations, joint ventures, and strategic investments

• Experience drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, merger agreements, stock and asset purchase agreements, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, disclosure schedules, and related transaction documents

• Experience coordinating due diligence, transaction management, and complex domestic and cross-border deal execution

• Experience advising clients on corporate governance, transaction structuring, and post-closing integration matters

• Familiarity with private credit, growth equity, venture capital, continuation funds, or secondary transactions is a plus

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
