MES Engineer

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000/year + 13% Bonus + Full Benefits
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Opportunity Overview

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing operation in Boston, MA, to add a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineer to their technology and operations team. This role is perfect for a technically skilled professional who thrives at the intersection of manufacturing processes, automation, and digital integration.

The MES Engineer will play a critical role in supporting day-to-day operations, enhancing system performance, and driving optimization projects that connect shop-floor activities with enterprise-level systems. This is a hands-on position where your expertise will directly improve efficiency, compliance, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot MES applications to ensure seamless integration with production systems and ERP platforms

  • Work closely with operations, automation, and IT teams to capture requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Support system upgrades, deployments, and validation activities while maintaining compliance with industry standards

  • Develop dashboards, workflows, and reports to provide actionable insights for plant leadership

  • Serve as a technical resource for MES-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance

  • Document system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures for compliance and training purposes

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline production workflows through MES enhancements

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline

  • 3+ years of hands-on MES experience within a manufacturing environment (pharma, biotech, or high-tech industries preferred)

  • Strong understanding of production workflows, automation systems, and ERP integration

  • Familiarity with GMP regulations, data integrity, and system validation is highly desirable

  • Proficiency with SQL databases, scripting, and system configuration tools

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $110,000 - $120,000 annually
