Metal Fabricator

The Staff Pad has partnered with a respected construction and fabrication company in Beloit, Wisconsin, to find an experienced and safety-focused Fabricator. This is a hands-on role responsible for welding, cutting, assembling, and preparing various metal components used in the construction of custom equipment and structural projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal structures using MIG, ARC, and other welding techniques
  

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  

• Operate fabrication machinery and hand tools
  

• Prepare surfaces for welding and ensure clean, high-quality welds
  

• Perform anchoring, leveling, and shimming of structures
  

• Complete daily timecards and log duties performed
  

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas
  

• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, fire watch protocols, and equipment inspections
  

• Participate in job site set-up and breakdown, including steel erection and layout
  

• Adhere to hot work permit procedures and fire safety best practices
  

• Support material take-offs and prepping for coating or painting
  

• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
  

• Minimum 5 years of fabrication or welding experience
  

• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance per company standards
  

• OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, Forklift and Aerial certifications (or ability to obtain within first year)
  

• Familiarity with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
  

• Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding preferred
  

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  

• Ability to read technical documentation and perform job-related math
  

• Strong reasoning, communication, and time management skills
  

• Capable of lifting heavy materials and working in various physical positions (standing, climbing, kneeling, etc.)
  

• Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoors and around loud equipment
  

Travel

• Minimal travel required (up to 5%) between local job sites or company locations
