We are looking for a Material Handler/Saw Operator to join our team on first shift. The Material Handler/Saw Operator is an entry level position for someone who is detail-oriented and motivated. This is a dynamic position with opportunities for additional responsibilities and movement within the Company. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

   · Physically receive material from various vendors/delivery services

   · Stock raw materials and maintain the inventory system integrity (material traceability, cycle counts, etc.)

   · Issue material from stock to shop work orders & physically deliver material to indicated machinery

   · Identify nonconformities in documentation and communicate issues to appropriate Team members or department(s)

   · Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks

   · Set up and operate up to 2 CNC saws

   · Operate grinders and deburring equipment as needed

   · Support materials department objectives in order to meet on-time and inventory control metrics

   · Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in work area and wherever material is delivered in  the shop

Basic Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

   · Prefer high school degree or equivalent 

   · At least 1 year of related experience or training in material handling and/or metal cutting

   · Basic computer knowledge and math skills

   · Prefer experience or familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems

   · Discipline to provide consistent and precise work in an AS9100 environment

   · Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with others

   · Ability to manage multiple demands in a professional manner

   · Must be able to work safely and wear appropriate PPE while working (safety shoes & glasses)

   · Certified forklift operator or forklift experience preferred

Physical Requirements 

   · Must be able to lift, pull, push or apply force up to 35 lbs. frequently, up to 50 lbs. occasionally, or up to 75 lbs. with assistance 

   · Frequent bending, stooping, pulling and twisting 

   · Extended periods of standing or walking frequently required

   · Steel toed or safety shoes are required for the Material Handler/Saw Operator

   · Must have constant free mobility of hands, wrists, and arms; some physical or mechanical dexterity required

   · Must be able to meet minimum vision screening requirements outlined in customers’ QMS

Work Schedule and Environment 

   · Work schedule is 4-10s, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

   · Material cutting duties are conducted on the production floor around large CNC machines and material racking

   · Frequent use of the forklift around CNC machines and material racking

   · Some work is required to be performed at a desk using a computer

   · OUR SHOP IS TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED AND CLEAN!

   · OT may be available on Fridays and Saturdays, depending on workload and customer demand

Compensation and Benefits

Starting Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $26.00
