Duties:
1.  Setup and operates metal saw.  Selects cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts and cutting tools according to knowledge of metal properties.
2.  Interprets drawings to determine dimensional and finish specifications, setup and tooling requirements.
3.  Inspects, measures and checks completed work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring tools and devices.
4.  Maintains metal saws and changes worn cutting tools as necessary; orders replacement parts and essential cutting oils as needed.
5.  May deliver materials to warehouse workers; may drive forklift to assist with loading as needed.

Experience:
A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required; prefers 2 years of college; 4-5 years experience working with drill press, mill, lathe, and metal saw.  Years of experience and ability to work independently will determine which level you will be placed.  Level I – entry level, limited experience, eager to learn.  Level II – 3-10 years experience, able to work independently with minimal direction.  Level III – 10 years + experience, works independently, able to design custom parts, oversees Level I & Level II Machinists.
