Metal Stamping Press Supervisor

Job Overview

We are seeking a Press Tech Group Leader – Metal Stamping to lead production efficiency, drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced stamping environment. This role is responsible for optimizing press operations, reducing downtime, improving die changeovers (SMED), and leading a high-performance production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize metal stamping press operations for safety, quality, and productivity
• Troubleshoot tool & die and press issues, and implement effective solutions
• Drive Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Lead SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) programs to reduce changeover time and waste
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime
• Mentor, coach, and develop team members through servant leadership
• Analyze production metrics to improve efficiency and operational performance
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and tool room teams
• Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years in a metal stamping/manufacturing environment
• Strong hands-on press experience in metal stamping required
• Strong knowledge of tool & die principles and practices
• Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and SMED implementation
• Leadership experience in supervising and developing production teams
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing preferred

Preferred Skills

• SMED and setup reduction experience
• High-volume, fast-paced manufacturing background
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements

• Standing for extended periods, bending, and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
