Metalizing Technician

Title:  Metalizing Technician

Reports to: Plant Manager

Education required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Job Summary:

A Metalizing Technician is responsible for metalizing ceramic components.  This includes coating, plating, firing, inspecting, and packaging metalized components.  Some basic soldering and assembly are also required depending on the product.  This position works independently and on occasion may need to direct general labor as the work load requires.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work independently to production schedules, following standard routing instructions and engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Detailed brush coating of small intricate parts.
• Plating and inspection of parts.
• Monitor and adjust furnace temperatures.
• Monitor and adjust plating bath chemistries.
• Assemble products, including basic soldering.
• Basic setup and operation of automated soldering equipment.
• Inspection and packaging of products.
• Diagnose basic production problems.
• Direct and instruct general labor support as needed.
• Maintains safe operation of equipment by adhering to safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Experience Requirements:

• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Basic Soldering experience/knowledge.
• Experience in Painting is beneficial. 

May be assigned other miscellaneous duties as required by plant management.

Hourly wage is determined by experience.  Hours are Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm.
