Apply Today! \n\nWhere You Will Work \n\nTyrone is an open-pit copper mining complex located in Grant County, New Mexico \u2013 just 10 miles south of the historic mining community of Silver City. The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper. \n\nThe community of Silver City boasts various restaurants, arts, entertainment, cliff dwellings, festivals and much more. Residents and visitors enjoy gentle four seasons, with three hundred days of sunshine a year and low humidity. Visit Silver City to learn more. \n\n## What You Will Do\n\n * Assist in Metallurgical study, development, testing and analyses of designs, processes, or procedures. \n * Report on Metallurgical or process issues and make recommendation to Chief Metallurgist on how to resolve/correct the issues. \n * Review and recommend new or enhanced Metallurgical testing equipment or protocols. \n * Contribute to the improvement of Metallurgical process. \n * Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. \n * Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations. \n * Maintain current working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. \n * Perform other duties as required. \n\n\n\n## What You Bring To Freeport\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of experience in Metallurgy or related Scientific field, OR \n * Master\u0027s degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in Metallurgy or related Scientific field. \n * Knowledge of the principles and methods used in complex Metallurgical and processing analyses. \n * Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. \n * Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. \n * Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. \n * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing \n\n\n\n## Preferred Qualifications\n\nWhat We Offer You \n\nThe estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000-$127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
