Located in Caldwell, Idaho Federated Ordinance brings a modern approach to the manufacturing process, safety, and reliability, of the ammunition industry within the United States. Federated Ordinance is dedicated to building on the timeless traditions and history of our shooting and sporting past and making available a modern and lasting source of ammunition and components for the future. As Maintenance Technician you would install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment to include plumbing, electrical and pneumatic systems. Your duties would involve pipe fitting; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Due to the manufacture of ammunition, a qualified candidate must be able to pass a background check containing FBI - NICS information, and a drug screening.
  • Installation of new equipment.
  • Ensure the operation of production equipment by completing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions by dismantling devices and replacing or repairing defective parts.
  • Monitoring changes in the equipment and adhering to preventative maintenance schedules and procedures as outlined by the manufacturer.
  • A strict adherence to all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • Proven experience in a production environment utilizing CMMS software.
  • Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
  • Strong mechanical skill and ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and repair of electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with the operation of VFD’s, PLC’s, and automated production controls.
  • Ensure the operation of production equipment by scheduling preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare and communicate maintenance reports to management, by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Monitor and maintain spare parts and tooling required for repairs.
  • Acceptance of flexibility in job scope and role.
  • Background in auto mechanics is preferred

Education

  • Prior Experience as a Technician in a manufacturing facility – Preferred
  • Associates Degree – Preferred
  • Appropriate work experience in a related field can be substituted for formal education

Physical Requirements

Long periods of time are spent standing, sitting, and walking.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Must be able to bend, stretch and reach while working on equipment.

FLSA and Employment Status

This is a non-exempt, full-time position
