Reports To: Medical Director 

Employee Status: Exempt (Regarding Overtime)

Position Summary: Under general supervision, but in line with established PC&HC policies and procedures, evaluating the performance of nursing staff, providing feedback and mentoring, contributing to staff professional development, interviewing and hiring nurses and developing departmental budgets.

Essential Functions

  • Represent PC&HC to patients/visitors in a caring, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate patient care.
  • Oversee      daily workflow, staffing, training, hiring and development of nursing staff
  • Complete annual performance evaluation for self and employees and implement plans of correction when needed. 
  • Prepare nursing staff schedule at assigned location(s) and manage time off requests. 
  • Utilize EMR (eClinicalWorks) software for patient  records.
  • Maintain quality monitoring logs; i.e.; refrigerator,  lab tests, immunizations, lab inventory and stocking of supplies and      medications.
  • Check equipment functionality and controls.
  • Assure all lab specimens have been picked up at day end.
  • Ensure the infection control standards and OSHA standards are followed and hazardous waste is properly disposed.
  • Improve the patient experience and health care processes and help assure the provision of high-quality health care, as well as an ongoing process of performance improvement.
  • Ensures departmental compliance and actions on Compliance Work Plan for assigned department.

· Responsible for the clinical training and delineation of privileges for nursing staff annually. 

  • Plan and organize workload to maintain efficient  patient operations in the Health Center.
  • Maintain a strong patient focus while working collaboratively within the teams multiple demands and patient needs.
  • Treat all patient information confidentially and in accordance with established guidelines.

Marginal Functions

  • Required to work as a staff nurse, as needed, to ensure staffing coverage of department, as needed.
  • Travel between work sites as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.
  • May be assigned to a particular site(s) but will also  collaborate with all Nurse Managers and provide coverage as needed for all sites.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a High School diploma or higher
  • Must have Certification, be Registered 
  • Must have 3-5 or more years’ experience as an RN
  • Must have at least 3 or more years’ experience of leadership or management  
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds/ walk and/or stand for up to ten hour shifts-bend or stoop throughout shift
  • Must have computer skills 
  • Must follow all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
