Middle School Cheer Head Coach(EX)-Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Essex MD

Essential Functions

• Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, training sessions, and games.


• Develop and implement strategies to promote individual player growth and team success.


• Foster a positive, disciplined, and faith-filled team culture.


• Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and student-athletes.


• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic staff.


• Coordinate game preparation, scheduling needs, equipment, and team logistics.


• Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and character development among athletes.


• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.


• Maintain compliance with school and league policies and procedures.


• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the athletic program

Position Qualifications

 Previous cheer or coaching experience preferred, ideally at the middle school level.  

• Knowledge of cheer fundamentals, athlete development, and performance strategy.  


• Experience working with middle school students.  


• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.  


• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.  


• Commitment to fostering teamwork, accountability, and character within the program.  


• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Pay Range:  Stipend - $1,000 - $2,000
