Job Description:
North Cobb Christian School seeks a qualified and spiritually mature individual to serve as the Middle School Director of Student Life and Operations. This role is crucial for providing strategic leadership in student activities and discipline, and for fostering a positive, Christ-like, and joyful culture among the student body. The Director serves the Middle School as a catalyst for student development and success, working collaboratively with the faculty and other campus offices to engage students and enhance learning.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Life & Culture Leadership:
Oversee and direct all student co-curricular activities and middle school-wide student events, fostering a fun and joyful school culture.
Partner closely with the Middle School Chaplain to develop and implement initiatives that foster character development and discipleship, promoting a Christ-like culture among the student body.
Develop programs and services that promote student engagement, school spirit, and community development, including overseeing the house system, clubs, and student trips.
Serve as a resource for staff on matters related to student life and behavior management.
Discipline & Student Accountability:
Oversee the student discipline process, ensuring that school policies are upheld in alignment with the school’s mission and values.
This includes administering consequences for Level I and II infractions and coordinating high-level disciplinary actions with the Principal.
Work closely with the Middle School Principal and faculty to establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies.
Work with the rest of the staff to develop long-term retention and accountability strategies.
Assist students in navigating challenges such as peer relationships and academic stress through mentorship and foundational biblical encouragement, deferring formal biblical counseling to the Middle School Chaplain.
Collaboration & Community:
Coordinate the day-to-day logistical flow of the middle school, including supervision of common areas, student transitions, lunch procedures, duty assignments, and arrival/dismissal processes.
Build strong relationships with staff, students, and families, making all feel known and cared for.
Partner with parents and guardians to support students’ overall well-being.
Advocate for students and strengthen the relationship between co-curricular and academic programs.
Assist in the budget revision process as necessary.
Qualifications:
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Scripture and ability to apply biblical principles to real-life situations.
A heart for ministry and a passion for shaping the next generation in Christ.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with middle school students, staff, and their families.
Evidence of a spirit of dedication, commitment, flexibility, and responsiveness.
Creativity and a strong sense of fun and excitement are needed to foster a joyful school culture.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discernment in handling sensitive situations.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills with a focus on logistical planning and execution.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with the Colson Fellows Program and the Leader In Me Program preferred.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience.
Acceptance without reservation of the NCCS doctrinal beliefs and lifestyle tenets.
Proven experience in administration, student life, or mentoring/managing faculty is preferred.
Preference for proven experience managing complex logistics, scheduling, or operations within an educational or organizational setting.

This is an 11-month, full-time (40 hours per week) contract position.
