Title: Middle School Innovator’s Workshop (STEAM) Lead Teacher & Program Developer
Reports To: Middle School Principal

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Education, Design/Engineering, or related field.
Demonstrated mastery in Project-Based Learning (PBL) and real-world STEAM instruction for grades 5–8.
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience with proven experience in program or curriculum development.
Experience designing physical learning environments and managing makerspace/lab equipment, technology, and budgets.
Valid Georgia teaching certificate with STEAM/STEM endorsement (preferred).
Biblical worldview with a strong commitment to integrating Christian faith into innovation and problem-solving.
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Prefer experience in backward unit design and authentic assessment design.
Strong relational and classroom management skills.
Strong organizational, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to partner with families in spiritual formation and integration of subjects.

Role Summary
The MS Innovator’s Workshop Lead Teacher builds, develops, and instructs a dynamic, Project-Based Learning STEAM elective for 5th–8th-grade students. This leader designs hands-on curriculum, procures equipment, manages lab spaces, and aligns course pathways directly with Upper School Academies. The role connects real-world problem-solving with a biblical worldview—inspiring students to use their heart, head, and hands to impact the world for Christ.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program & Curriculum Development
Curriculum Design: Build and continuously update an innovative, project-based 5-8 STEAM curriculum that emphasizes real-world applications.
Academy Alignment: Partner with Upper School Academy leaders to construct vertical pathways that prepare middle schoolers for high school academy programs.
Authentic Assessment: Implement performance-based assessments, student portfolios, and design challenges beyond traditional testing.
Lab Space & Resource Management
Environment Enhancement: Design, organize, and maintain an engaging Innovator's Workshop lab space conducive to collaborative design and building.
Procurement & Stewardship: Oversee budget allocation, identify technology/tool needs, purchase equipment, and maintain safety and inventory standards.
Instructional Leadership & Spiritual Formation
Facilitated Learning: Guide 5th–8th-grade students through inquiry-based engineering design cycles, coding, robotics, or prototyping.
Biblical Integration: Seamlessly weave Christian stewardship, ethics in technology, and faith-driven innovation into projects.
Family & Community Partnership: Maintain 24-hour communication responses with families and showcase student work through exhibitions or competitions.
General Responsibilities
Chaperone retreats, field trips, and school events as assigned.
