St. Pius X Classical Academy, a Catholic school with small class sizes and a commitment to academic excellence, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Math & Science Teacher to join our team. We are looking for a professional who is passionate about teaching, organized, and ready to inspire students in grades 5-8 to excel in mathematics and science while fostering their spiritual and moral growth.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Instruction:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in math and science for middle school students (grades 5-8).
• Teach core mathematical concepts, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and problem-solving strategies.
• Instruct students in foundational and advanced scientific topics, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences.
• Incorporate hands-on learning activities, experiments, and real-world applications to enhance understanding.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students.
• Integrate Catholic values and teachings into daily lessons and classroom activities.

Classroom Management:

• Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and focused learning environment.
• Develop and implement classroom policies and procedures that promote discipline, responsibility, and a love of learning.
• Encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and curiosity in students.

Student Support:

• Monitor and assess student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and observations.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and personal growth.
• Identify and address academic challenges or behavioral concerns in collaboration with parents and administration.

Collaboration & Professional Development:

• Work closely with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance curriculum and support school programs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching practices and stay updated on trends in math and science education.
• Attend staff meetings, school events, and other activities that contribute to the school’s mission.

Additional Duties:

• Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch or recess, as needed.
• Assist with school events, field trips, and liturgical celebrations.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the school.

Qualifications

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field (required).
• Valid teaching license (required).

Experience:

• Teaching experience or completion of student teaching requirements.
• Prior experience in a Catholic or private school setting is a plus.
