The Middle School Pastor leads middle school students to know and love God. They oversee all aspects of programming for the middle school services. This person reports to the Student Ministry Director.
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 40-45 hours per week. The schedule includes hours on Sundays, Wednesday evenings, designated office hours during the week, and occasional flexibility for events outside of regular hours.
Qualifications
Education: Degree in ministry or theology preferred.
Experience: Must possess prior experience in leading youth-oriented programs and curriculum. Have a proven track record of positive teen interactions and have a history of good interactions with parents of pre-teens. Experience in a large church setting is preferred.
License/Certification: Maintain licensing through WCMN. A valid PA driver’s license.
Specific Abilities: Ability to present God’s Word in a way that connects with students. Comfortable with handling various student issues and communicating possible concerns to parents. Effective team player attitude that cooperates with various Worship Center departments.
What This Person Does
Present the Word of God in a clear and relevant manner for the intended audience.
Plan and prepare for all aspects of weekly Converge programming. Supports Student Min on Sunday mornings at Route 56 through hosting, speaking, and leading groups as needed.
Provide, plan and facilitate opportunities for students to be involved in serving at Worship Center.
Provide regular communication for families.
Provide pastoral care for middle school students and families.
Plan and facilitate the middle school baptism class.
Develop a highly functioning multi-generational team of leaders.
Plan age appropriate activities such as retreats, events and serving opportunities.
Perform necessary administrative duties that support the ministry. This includes preparing the budget.
Other duties as assigned.
