Primary responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach Grades 6–7 science curriculum through daily instruction aligned with All Saints’ program goals and best practices in middle school teaching.

While this position description outlines the primary duties, it is not limited to those identified and may include additional duties assigned.

Professional & Community Responsibilities

  • Create a classroom environment in which students feel known, supported, and challenged academically and socially.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to design curriculum, share best practices, and support the school’s program.

  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, committees, and school initiatives.

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents through conferences, written reports, and ongoing dialogue.

  • Model professionalism, ethical behavior, and the conduct expected of students.

  • Uphold and implement school policies and procedures related to safety, well-being, and student care.

  • Participate fully in school life, including grade-level events, student performances, admissions events, and key community gatherings.

  • Assist with coverage and supervision duties (recess, lunch, after-school programs, evening events) as needed.

  • Partner with the supervisor and Director of Finance, as appropriate, in planning the instructional budget.

  • Maintain professional growth through school-provided and self-directed professional development.

All Saints Day School believes that every employee contributes meaningfully to the success of the school. While this description outlines primary responsibilities, flexibility and a willingness to support the broader mission of the school are essential.

  • Three or more years of teaching experience preferred, ideally in middle school science and/or math

  • Ability to design and facilitate hands-on science learning in a safe classroom/lab environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development and differentiated instruction

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom community where diverse perspectives are valued
