Position Available: Middle School Social Studies Teacher- Grades 5 & 6

Are you passionate about bringing history, civics, geography, and current events to life for middle school students? Action Day Middle School is seeking a dynamic and engaging Social Studies Teacher who can spark curiosity, foster critical thinking, and help students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Our Middle School Social Studies Teacher will guide students through a rich exploration of history, civics, geography, and current events. This role is ideal for an educator who values both academic rigor and creative, student-centered learning. You’ll join a collaborative team that embraces interdisciplinary teaching, small class sizes, and an innovative curriculum designed to prepare students for success in high school and beyond.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based lessons in history, geography, and civics
• Lead inquiry-driven discussions, debates, and research projects that promote critical thinking
• Integrate social studies with other subjects through cross-curricular projects
• Support advanced literacy development through writing and research-based assignments
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs in small class settings
• Foster a classroom culture built on respect, curiosity, and collaboration
• Participate in school-wide events, enrichment programs, and professional development opportunities

Compensation Range: $65,000- $70,000 per year depending on individual experience, education and position requirements.

Our ideal candidate will come to us with:

• 3-5 years of middle school teaching experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Current Teaching Credential (preferred)
• A strong background in social studies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships and offer exceptional customer service
