What You’ll Do


As the Middle School Special Education Teacher, you’ll lead a classroom of 7 neurodivergent students, building academic, functional, and social-emotional skills through differentiated instruction and consistent routines. You’ll partner with specialists and families to support students in reaching their individualized goals.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Design and deliver engaging, individualized lessons across core subject areas

  • Implement accommodations and modifications aligned with IEP goals

  • Foster student growth in communication, self-regulation, and independence

  • Use visual supports, sensory strategies, and relationship-based practices

  • Lead the IEP process, including goal development, progress monitoring, and meetings

  • Collaborate closely with families, aides, and specialists to ensure continuity of support

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that celebrates neurodiversity


What You Bring



  • A valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate Support Needs or Moderate/Severe), or eligibility for intern status

  • Experience teaching neurodivergent students, particularly those with autism

  • Proficiency in differentiated instruction, visual supports, and structured teaching approaches

  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

  • A calm, joyful, and consistent presence in the classroom
