Job Description - Mid-Shift Kitchen Manager



 
Fudpuckers is seeking a dedicated, hands-on Mid-Shift Kitchen Manager to supervise kitchen operations and staff during mid-day service hours. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth kitchen flow, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and supporting kitchen staff through leadership and training. The Mid-Shift Manager acts as the primary point of contact during peak mid-day hours and bridges communication between day and night kitchen shifts. 



Key Responsibilities: 



  • Supervise and support kitchen staff during mid-shift hours (typically late morning to early evening).



  • Ensure food is prepared to Fudpuckers' quality and presentation standards.



  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and enforce food safety regulations.



  • Assist with scheduling, training, and onboarding of new kitchen staff.



  • Monitor inventory levels, prep needs, and communicate supply shortages to management.



  • Act as the shift leader in resolving issues, motivating staff, and maintaining a productive environment.



  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure order accuracy and timely service.



  • Step into line cook or prep roles as needed to support the team during busy periods.



  • Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to upper management promptly.



  • Participate in shift handoffs with opening and closing managers to ensure operational consistency.


Qualifications:
 

  • 2+ years of kitchen leadership or supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant.



  • Strong working knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe certification preferred).



  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a diverse kitchen team under pressure.



  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.



  • Must be reliable, punctual, and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:


1.  Must be able communicate clearly and listen attentively to supervisors, employees, and guest instructions.
2.  Must be able to stand and exert well paced mobility for long periods of time.  
3.  Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc up to 30 pounds in weight. 
4.  Must be able to follow directions.
5.  Must possess dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
