MIG Welder - Springfield, Ohio

Job purpose

As our MIG Welder, you will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. You will be working with the latest technology and equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. 

Duties and responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on steel, aluminium, or other metals according to job specifications, TIG welding will be a secondary expectation as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
• Set up welding equipment, select proper electrodes, wires, and gases
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces prior to welding
• Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and quality
• Repair welds and assemblies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Always follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations
• Working with ERP system to complete job travelers
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report malfunctions
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals

• Proven experience as a welder or schooling
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
• Attention to detail, time management skills, and a positive attitude
• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Professional certification is a plus

Working conditions

Welders wear protective clothing and goggles for safety. Welders may work in a confined area designed to contain sparks and glare. They occasionally must lift heavy objects and work in awkward positions. Most work full time and overtime is common.

Physical requirements

Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.
Must be able to work in awkward positions to weld or do minor electrical work.

• Pay - Starting at $20.73/hour
• Schedule – 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday onsite
